This Week's 101 In How NOT To Try On Samples

And welcome to this week’s 101 in how NOT to try samples on your horse. Sometimes I forget that he’s a crazed beast and think he’ll stand still for pretty much anything (as he generally does). Tonight was one of the exceptions when I gently slipped the latest semi finished fly veil mask over his ear and he scurried* off across the field apparently terror-stricken.He and his friends led me on a merry dance trying to get hold of him again but my trusty pocket polos did the trick and I can finally see that the eye cut out section...

Well that didn’t go EXACTLY to plan. Turns out horses’ eyes are quite a bit lower down than I thought 🙂Also need to fix those raw edges on the yellow section but I’ve got an expert on it (not me, evidently).

Busy day today (and last night). Aside from picking bl**dy horse hairs out of            e v e r y  meal I’ve had for the last year (seemingly), I tried yesterday’s fly veil samples on my little monster and Lovely Letty (thank you Judith again) at my yard. The pink shorter one needs some darts adding but should work. I’m delighted with the yellow one and am actually wondering if I need to put an eye panel in - both horses seemed pretty indifferent about the yellow colour (despite the unimpressed ear shapes we’re seeing).  ...
